Since 2016 The Foundation has held a fundraising event at the NAME annual meeting. Tickets that are sold benefit our research and educational efforts. In addition, the Foundation sponsors the Best Student Presentation awards, the Best Resident/Fellow Awards, and multiple travel stipends each year for students who present and submit a paper for publication. See the "Awards" tab for a listing of awardees.
The Foundation also hosts a 50-50 drawing where 50% of the proceeds goes to the Endowment Fund. There is also a silent auction where donors submit items which are purchased by members at the meeting. The donor receives the credit of a non-cash donation to the Foundation of the fair market value (FMV) of the item (or the purchase price if less) and the purchaser receives the credit of a cash donation to the Foundation of the amount paid in excess of the FMV.

CORONER TO THE STARS
On behalf of the NAME Foundation Board of Trustees, the 10th annual evening NAME Foundation Thomas Noguchi, MD Lecture was presented in conjunction with the NAME Annual Meeting in Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday, October 18th from 8 to 10 PM.
We were pleased to welcome Director & Producer Ben Hethcoat, who shared insights into his creative journey and the process behind making the film. Coroner to the Stars chronicles the extraordinary journey of Dr. Thomas Noguchi, the former Los Angeles County Chief Medical Examiner-Coroner whose groundbreaking autopsies forever shaped American culture. From Marilyn Monroe and Robert Kennedy to Sharon Tate and Natalie Wood, Noguchi's outspoken expertise pushed forensic science into the spotlight-even as Hollywood elites and political adversaries sought to silence him. A Japanese immigrant who unwittingly rose to fame in a city driven by stardom, Noguchi's fearless pursuit of truth often placed him in the cross hairs of controversy.
